We had the first of two PSHE Days yesterday and would like to share with you the wide range of activities and workshops our students took part in:
Year 7 started the day in the Sports Hall with a wake & shake session and a healthy breakfast which was followed by workshops on body image, healthy lifestyles and a Big Walk in the afternoon.
Year 8 focused on Personal Safety and how to navigate the dangers of social media (sexting and cyber bullying). They also took part in a self-defense workshop, ran by Shaolin Freestyle.
Year 9 had a mixture of careers information (CV writing and researching different career paths), relationships advice and fire/road safety, ran by the fire watch from Canley station.
Year 10 discussed wellbeing, sexual and mental health in a range of workshops and also looked ahead to planning for their work experience.
Year 11 took part in revision skills training run by Coventry University, a careers session and also a West Midlands Police workshop on Extremism and what young people can do to fight and prevent it.
Year 12 students heard from a Papyrus Speaker who spoke about the importance of looking after your own mental health and looking out for others. They also completed a road safety and safe driving awareness session and learnt about the importance of blood and stem cell donation.
