RE & WELLBEING LESSONS
Religious Education (RE) Curriculum
Throughout your time at school we wish to help you develop your spiritual, moral, social, cultural awareness. You will learn about the origins beliefs and practices of the following religions;
As well as the beliefs and spiritual values of other community groups such as Atheists and Agnostics.
Developing an understanding and awareness of different beliefs helps to build tolerance, respect and understanding, fostering community cohesion and inclusivity.
We are required to deliver RE to all year groups, the curriculum for which is determined by Coventry SACRE ( Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education) and reflects the diversity of our community.
Wellbeing- Personal Social Health and Economic Education includes , SMSC & Citizenship.
Alongside RE you will also develop further skills and knowledge to help you understand and thrive in the wider world.
You will explore cultural diversity, global concerns, justice and the law, equality including your rights and responsibilities, promoting and supporting physical and mental health, awareness of local and global issues, how to participate in politics, careers, relationships, finance and personal safety to support the needs of our students and the wider community we also encourage students to participate in enacting positive change, supporting local and national charities and events.
Our curriculum promotes the spiritual, moral, cultural, social, mental and physical development of our students and of society, and prepares our students for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life.
