Summer Exams 2021
Following the announcement by the Department of Education regarding the cancellation of public examinations this year it is important we share processes we will use across the school to determine student grades. As you will be aware grades this year will be based on teachers’ assessments of the evidence of the standard at which their students are performing. Teachers are encouraged to use a range of methods to gather the necessary evidence to support the grading of students. The deadline for submission of these grades to the exam board is 18th June 2021.
Centre Policy and Supporting Information
As part of the process this year each school was required to create and submit a centre policy on how they would help award grades. Our policy will be shared here once it has been ratified by the awarding bodies. This policy was compiled as per the guidance from Joint Council of Qualifications (JCQ). You can also find the link to the website which includes some guidance on Summer Grades for parents and students.
Find below some keys letters and communication that has been shared with parents with students in year 11 and year 13.
