About West Coventry Academy

The school was last inspected by an Ofsted team in November 2014 and we are very proud of the report we received.

Each of the four OFSTED criteria and the overall school judgement was Good.

This judgement is under the new framework for Ofsted which began on September 1st 2014, where the guidelines are far more stringent and robust. We are, therefore, extremely pleased with this result.

Some of the key findings from the Report are;

“Students’ achievement is good for all groups and their progress is good from their starting points”

“Teachers have high expectations and plan challenging lessons to engage all students”

“Behaviour is good. Students are polite and courteous and their positive attitudes help them to learn well in lessons”

“The sixth form is good. Students are taught well and they are given good support to prepare them for their future”

“Strong leadership ensures improvements are brought about to raise achievement”

“Governors are well informed and increasingly challenge school leaders to do better”

taken from Report (12/11/2014)

We now need to build on the achievement in mathematics & improve written feedback further to help students progress
